An interesting and informative art hour "People's Artist" was held at the college, dedicated to the 120th anniversary of the birth of the artist Abylkhan Kasteev. The name of Abylkhan Kasteev is associated with the origin and formation of Kazakh painting. The students got acquainted with the biography of the famous painter and learned a lot of interesting things.
During the presentation, students got acquainted with many paintings representing the portrait genre: "Self-portrait", "Portrait of a sister", "Portrait of Abai", "Portrait of Zhambyl Zhabaev". The artist's canvases also reflect significant events: "Amangeldy's Army", "Turksib", "Medeo High-altitude skating rink". One of the leading themes of the artist's work is the life and way of life of the Kazakh people: "Collective farm dairy farm", "Milking mares", "In a yurt".
The painting "Kalyn Mal" is about women's inequality, an urgent problem of that time.
A. Kasteev is a national artist in the worldview, content and spirit of his art, therefore, in 1944 he was awarded the title of People's Artist of Kazakhstan.
