On May 27, 2024, another literary quiz was held as part of the "Reading Together" campaign. This time, college students had to read the novel "The Gambler" by F.M. Dostoevsky.

Dostoevsky showed a man addicted to gambling. The main focus of the quiz questions is to penetrate into the inner world of the characters: why does the character act this way? Why did he have such a thought? To recognize the hero by the description. Determine the emotional state of the character from the dialogue. "You have become numb," he remarked, "you have not only renounced life, your own and public interests, the duty of a citizen and a person... .", which indicates an internal crisis, during which the player realizes that he is mentally "stiffened" and is no longer able to love. At the end of the novel, the hero remains on the threshold – in anticipation of "tomorrow's game." The hero sees no other way out for himself, except for the prospect of playing on.

"The Gambler" is a very topical novel. Craving for gambling called "Ludomania" is a disease of the XXI century. When in one night a person can lose everything: home, land, business, respect and even family. At the end of the quiz, the students were presented with a book exhibition on the works of F.M. Dostoevsky, one of the greatest humanist writers in the world.

The winner of the literary quiz was Daria Yurchenko, a 3rd year student of the qualification "Teacher of a foreign language of primary education".
