Reading hour (Mike Gelprin "The Candle was burning")
Within the framework of the "Reading College" Concept, an hour of reading "Reading together, reading aloud" was held at the college, dedicated to the story "The Candle burned" by M. Gelprin. Mike Gelprin is a modern science fiction writer. With his story "The Candle was burning", he looked far into the future, showing a world in which scientific and technological progress has supplanted literature.
The event was attended by first-year students of the specialty "Primary Education".
The students listened to an audiobook. The story touched the soul of the guys.
They took an active part in the discussion of the work, answering the questions: what problems does the author raise?; what is the culmination of the story?; why is the story called "The candle burned"?
At the end of the discussion, they came to the conclusion that the author raises such a problem as spirituality in the world of progress and that the candle is a symbol of hope.
